I am trying to get front uprights for my megabusa that i am building but i am struggling to source some.  I do not fancy paying westfield prices.  I phoned an anonymous kit car manufacturer who had plenty in supply but because it was not for their car they would not sell me them.  Any one got any ideas?

You'll be needing Kit Fit, Redmay Industrial Estate, Church Lane, South Scarle, Newark, Notts NG23 1JP (assuming they haven't moved.........), phone 01636 893453.

The leaflet I have in front of me has Cortina uprights with standard discs at £105 per side, or drilled discs at £115 per side. I have no connection or purchasing experience with them, just a leaflet in my filing cabinet...............

Or, if you're fairly sensible, and have a Haynes manual, pick 'em up from a breakers yard, and re-con them yourself. It really isn't difficult, and it should cost under a oner for both, I reckon..........

Hi

Phone a company called Part Search (can't remember the number, but call 192, and they'll give it ya.)

When you are through to Part Search, give them your details and describe what you are after, and within 24 hours you will have loads of suppliers and scrappy's offering you excactly what you need.  I got mine (cortina mk 4 uprights, discs and brake calipers) for £70 inc postage delivered within the week.

You'll have to recon them, but so what for that kinda price!

You could also try http://www.andy-spares.co.uk

Nice guy and will do them for £65

Seconded.

Kit-Fit - when I rang would only sell complete with discs, calipers and hubs which are pretty heavy for a BEC. He said they were so hard to get hold of now that it was only worth his while selling the lot together.
