Race Technology Dash 2

I'm a definite so long as Paul from WSC doesn't come back with a matched deal for the units that Westfield supply. Hopefully he'll post an update tomorrow. Otherwise I could just add a brake warning light on the dash and leave that connection alone on the RT Dash2. My only concerns are 1- does the dash come with a speed sensor or will that be an extra cost and 2- can the dash get the rpm from the coil in the same way as a bog standard tacho as i don't have an ecu to provide a feed.

1 - it does not come with any sensors, but is configurable to use sensors fitted to the engine.

2 - No it can't use the coil for rpm.

The manual is here.

Ah, not to worry. Just affected by a spot of brain fade. In my mind I'd mixed up the Omex shift lights and the Tacho. The Omex lights take the feed from the coil, but I'd forgot that the tacho feed comes from the loom on my Webcon ign module. I just checked that the engine runs when I disconnect the yellow 'tacho' wire and it does.

I'm still in for one of these dashes so long as the feed is the correct type :) (phew, I'd just been pricing up ECUs and nearly cried) Is there an easy way to check that the tacho signal is the correct type?

I have met with Race Technology today and can confirm that we can now match their price of £400+VAT (£470 inc) for the Westfield DASH2 version. They have told me that they are unaware of the offer you are refering to for a bulk buy, but they are looking into this.

We also have a retro fit loom complete with 4 control switches to faciliate an easy installation. The dash unit is provided configured to work with this loom and the senders used for vehicles with VDO instrumentation.  We are also calibrating for Smith gauge senders. The standard loom price is £70.50 (inc VAT).

I also discussed with Race Technology the DL1 and we are working on a favourable package price for this with the Westfield DASH2.

We are also currently finalising the trimmed dash panels (flat and contoured) to accept the DASH2 along with the standard square rocker switches.  Currently we can offer a trimmed flat dash, Westfield DASH2 unit and loom for £532 + VAT (£625 inc).

We are also looking at a dash with the round aluminium switches if there is sufficient interest, again with a retro fit loom, but please note these switches are expensive. If there is sufficient interest I will establish a price.

I hope this helps.  If you require any further information please let me know.

Regards

Paul Faithfull, WSC

Potenza/WSC coming up with the goods again

They've said right from the start they were willing to listen to what we wanted; and then deliver....And it seems to be working

I'm utterly confused... i have to pay an extra hundred squid for can ?  No implication of this in my own emails with race technology  :(

Paul, that sounds like great deal, especially as the four buttons alone are £30+vat from rt.  I'll be calling to order later today, which thankfully is pay day.

My understanding is that the £100 for CAN is if you just want a stand alone dash with it... if you get the data logger it comes with it.  ???  :)

oh, and one other thing... where have westfield moved the handbrake warning light to? ???  any pics?   :)

As far as I was aware, both the loggers, (DL1 at least) and Dash 2 need an external Can bus interface if that's the way you want to go. On the upside though, think of all the money on extra sensors you'll save if you're reading the existing ecu sensors!

Is this group buy dead in the water now that Westfield have come back with better prices?

Possibly. For me the safetly of the modded-for-SVA westfield part , and the plug&plug loom is too good to miss, even if it is £20 more.

Great work though, you definitly found something that everyone wanted.

It's not a problem, just need to know what people are doing, and if it's save the good folk of the WSCC £117.50 when buying from the factory then it's been worth while.
