dibbly Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 2g will be plenty......... Typically you need downforce to pull more than 1/1.2g lateral acceleration in most cars............. Alot of the time when you see people quoting g figures above this, they haven't corrected them for roll angle or taken off the yaw acceleration Quote
DavidC Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Yeah, if anyone has a westy which can pull 2G in any direction (freefall doesn't count) I wanna see it I think I'm probably going to jump ship to Neil's BB as I'm very very tempted by the prospect of having the dash next week. I have one question on the wiring, spefically the four wires in the speedo plug on the standard Westy loom. One of the pins is the Feed to Transducer (Yellow/White). As this would normally plug into the VDO speedo, would I be right in guessing that usually the feed to the transducer comes via the Speedo? If so, would I need to run a switched live feed from somewhere else on the loom to this pin on the Westy loom plug? Would one of the redundant feeds from the oil, fuel or water gauge plugs suffice or will the voltage be wrong? Or would that be what the reference 5v output is for on the Dash2 bottom connector? Once I have an answer to that, I think I'm back onto the original BB. DC Quote
neilb Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Race Tech Wireing details I will check with my build manual what what on the westfield loom. Quote
LordB Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Ordering Dash2 + loom from factory in the morning. Quote
RichB Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Would one of the redundant feeds from the oil, fuel or water gauge plugs suffice or will the voltage be wrong? Or would that be what the reference 5v output is for on the Dash2 bottom connector? A feed from one of the redundant guage feeds should be just fine, 12v is within spec for the sensor and should give an output suitable for the Dash2, 5v will be too low. Quote
DavidC Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Cool, I'll go with Neil's original bulk buy then. How easy will it be to set or find out the correct parameters for the VDO Oil, Fuel and Water senders? Neil, what's the best way to pay. Quote

DavidC Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 So, looking forward to next week when we've all got our RT Dash2's fitted, has anyone got the data for the VDO 5 bar oil pressure sender, float arm fuel sender and the VDO temperature sender? Quote
RichB Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 David, I'm getting the DASH2 via WSC, so should come configured with these parameters, I can let you know once I've got it, will be ~4 weeks though. Rich. Quote
