evo-mark Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Mark the spec was for 230bhp. same crank new pistons head cams ecu throttle bodies. I would have to get rid of my ecu throttle bodies and maybe exhaust. I have a mate who builds a lot of engines for lotus's and he needs a favor might have to twist his arm to build a ford engine for me or of course you could sort of downgrade and god forbid go for carbs so you will only have 220bhp like me sell you tb's and ecu that way it would cost you less than you may think i see why Harv went for the carb option now it seems to make sense edited to say drop Jeff a PM and he will give you details on the car Quote
Andrew Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 This isn't the car I think it is? from whom I think it is? I thought it wasn't for sale! -Pilot Pete Quote

Pilot Pete Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 it isn't for sale But only at the wright price Was that intentional or a hint of the cheeky white kicking in. Quote

Terry Everall Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 The Duratec punch is fanatastic and it eats up the ground with great top end speed and torque Quote
steve_m Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 The Duratec punch is fanatastic and it eats up the ground with great top end speed and torque But what's it like to drive ? Quote
evo-mark Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 it isn't for sale But only at the wright price Was that intentional or a hint of the cheeky white kicking in. oh . yes it was( looks down to copy spelling) intentional i meant you know as i do , it's not for sale but he will sell it .. god you have a couple of drinks now and then Quote
evo-mark Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Yes Terry what's it like performance wise compared to the mighty busa ..?? Quote
Guest Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Terry is the 250 busa what you were driving at mallory when we met? if so Jeff must be gutted that mark has the quicker car mark , i think that ECU needs a trip to pauls ,as the map might not be 100% and we think we know how it occured .... as he chatted to me after you today .... oh and the reason that went on carbs was that when i did that conversion paul didn't have the throttle body kit ... and it wasn't worth spending another 3k later for a few horses extra. JeffC Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Harv watch the first 50 secs of this video Jc struggling at Oulton Quote
Guest Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 thats why i asked wether it was the car terry had at mallory ? nothing against either of you and your driving , but marks certainly going to improve and get quicker because he's not yet getting the best from the car ( and nor would i expect him too yet) but i know how terry drives , and i know how i do ? Quote
evo-mark Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 hi Harv first No Terry has upgraded the car a lot since Mallory honestly mate i've been in it and first 3 gear performance is mind blowing as for the TB's speaking to Paul today i think a professional driver would only see the real world difference because of the way the TB's react to the way the throttle closes and opens approx 10th of a second better on a corner mind you a 10 corner track could give you a second a lap but again your driving would have to be lewis Hamilton like to make a difference IMO as for the ecu drop me a PM please Quote
JeffC Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Terry didnt have the 1550cc in long before I bought it from him so I would guess it it would have been the 1400cc busa lump he had in prior , 1550cc is a lump quicker than a 1400cc , Ive driven both and the 1400 although slightly quicker than 1300cc imho isnt worth the bother over standard lump Quote
evo-mark Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Harv watch the first 50 secs of this video Jc struggling at Oulton Harv it wasn't all bad for the Harv sport .. that was a very early session (me on road tyre's i think) Jeff knew the track and to be fair was fooking quick all day but as i got t grips with the track i think we worked out i was about 10 sec quicker a lap later in the day plus i still say that is the best track i have ever driven scared the fook out of me in the morning but by the afternoon i was in lurv xx Quote
