Well unfortunately I have been saying "Looks like we'll have to upgrade too" for a very long time.

Still no upgrade

just spoke to Paul myself 10 mins ago regards my rolling road graph

he is a very knowledgeable man and explained in detail why the power was down on the graph

of course i can't remember what he said   :durr:

but to cut a long storey short the RR was showing the wrong revs

and basically the hole graph needed to be moved along 500rpm which would put my power and torque up to why they should be  :t-up:

as Gav says he's a nice bloke and had time to chat a bit

i nealy fell off me chair when he told me i had a nice safe tame engine :suspect:

he said the difference between TB's and carbs are a world apart with TB's of course being better

so i think you may have yourself 1 quick car there Gavin next year

hope i'm not posting a vid entitled

the diff between dunnell carbs and throttle bodies

and watching you fly by ;)  :D

If I go for a rebuilt motor I think I can say goodbye to about 6.5 k thats a lot of money. May not be able to do trackdays. Better get some more work done.

6.5K  :suspect:   :suspect:

what about the same spec as mine

retaining standard pistons and just doing the rods and head

surely you can still run 230bhp safely and save 4K  ???

either that ,  or if you were to sell your car i know where there is a dunnell 230bhp on TB's fully speced up for 12K

Terry have you driven a 250bhp dunnell Zetec or duratec

how does it compare to your 250bhp busa , sorry Jeff's 250 busa

as that thing is by far the quickest accelerating car i have ever been in

it makes mine feel like a daily drive tintop

Mark the spec was for 230bhp. same crank new pistons head cams ecu throttle bodies. I would have to get rid of my ecu throttle bodies and maybe exhaust. I have a mate who builds a lot of engines for lotus's and he needs a favor might have to twist his arm to build a ford engine for me

Gavin

would you not be temped with the car i mentioned

not sure what your car is worth circa 8K worst  , poss more

that only leaves 4K for upgrading to the 230 dunnell

with like Jeff says  "a 4K 6 speed sequential box "

plus brakes to die for , and a load of top spec bit's on it

plus it is a minter as well  :t-up:

if me or pilot had the money we may be on the phone to Mr Raw
