Just sold our RX8 and BMW 3 series.

But what to get next. Needs to be fun and 2 seats ideally...

choices so far are:

MX 5 - new shape

BMW Z4 2.5 or 3.0l

Nissan 350Z (work mate recommends them, although I always thought that they were not upto much)

Looking at about 12-15k obv. the lower the better :D

Thoughts ladies and gents...

Had a 350Z as my daily drive, (See avatar) lovelly car, suprisingly economical! hell of a magnet for trouble/ road rage

second hand s2k have mostly been given the beating of there lives...

MR2 missus don;t like em.

lets but it this way she hates porsches, so anything looking even like one is out... including TVR's and that now goes for the 350z

Anyone had a smart roadster?

S2000 for me too. It's not really true that they've all been caned either. There are loads out there that have been owned by old guys and young ladies and have never been redlined (the cars, not the old guys or young ladies....  :p )

I searched one out for my brother a few months back and it is a cracking car. If I was in the market for a sub £15k roadster it would def be one of these.....  ;)

And the engines are bomb proof I remember Clarkson claiming Honda had built something like a million engines without a single major failure and he also described the feeling of the VTEC engaging similar to that of taking cocaine

The vtec system has never failed, which still means it can throw a rod :D.

However they are massively reliable and even if really cained, will come back for more if its been regularly serviced. As long as it has no horrendous mileage, you should be quite safe ;) .

Hiya Rob,

Well done on finally shifting the Beemer!

MX5 is a bit too hairdresserie for my liking but ultimately a good car.

I would also choose the S2000 myself given your list of requirements. I recon you should be able to get a minter in your budget and as teh others ahve said those engines are bombproof!

How about this as an example - only just run-in: CLICKY
