The review:

Almost the ultimate in waftability, the XJ does things that other cars can only dream of - put simply, cocooned in the leather and elmwood environment you really couldn't care less what BMW man does, or whether VW man cuts you up.  They are insignificant.  A quick flick of the 'Sport' button and a prod of the accelerator makes things in the mirrors get smaller very quickly.  The V8 makes a beautiful noise when prompted yet the Jag remains poised at whatever speed.

At normal speed however the cabin remains so quiet that it is unneccesary to set the volume on the audio system to anything higher than 6 on the dial which stretches up to 20 or more.

Despite it's size it feels small and nimble in the corners and with the Sport's firmer suspension is more than competant making its way around England's B roads.

Fuel consumption will always be an issue, and noone will ever buy a Jaguar with economy in the front of their mind, but 28mpg is attainable, and I'm quite sure that a good run on a motorway would see a return in excess of 30mpg.

I shall miss this, the finest car I have ever experienced.  I will be replacing it with another however but I will have to downgrade to an earlier 6 cylinder car.

The condition:

Obviously it is 7 years old and has 110,000 miles under it's belt

so it is not in showroom condition.  There are a few stonechips across the nose as should be expected, the vents for the rear occupants are broken  and the rear speaker grill on the passenger side is cracked (these are very common 'faults' as they tend to get caught as people enter or exit the car)

Photos:

Will be available later in the week.

How much:

I'm inviting offers around £7000 for the car, as above it will be taxed, MoT'd and freshly serviced for the new custodian so you needn't feel concerned about anything for the next 12months at least.  If it is possible to transfer the remaining 6 months warranty I will also include this in the price.

Questions:

I can be contacted by PM in the first instance and then email/phone.
