geothro Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I have a 2.0 litre seiw zetec westfield with a 3.92 Diff and MT75 gearbox running on 195x50 15 tyres and using GSXR throttle bodies. What would be a true top speed for the car. I have worked out the speed from a table on westfield world it would be around 140 mph a little fast I feel. Quote
davidgh Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Most Se7en's top speeds are limited by aerodynamic drag rather than gearing. The Se7en shape is anything but slippery and, generally, you'll need to have in excess of 200bhp to see much above 125mph. HTH Quote
sedsy Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 download gear calc it will tell you you just input the ratios etc. Will mail it to you if you pm me your email address Quote
Peter M Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Put speed down as 110 mph.The speed you use must be below the speed rating for your tyres. Quote

Kevin Wood Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 As Peter M said, don't go mad with the top speed. Check the rating of your tyres and make sure you don't declare more than that. At the end of the day, no-one can prove it one way or the other so as long as the figure is reasonable it won't be questioned. Kevin Quote
chappers Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 MY 1800 zetec (155bhp) with 195/50/15 tyres and 3.92 diff and windscreen has done 128mph (according to my speedo) with still more to give, so perhaps 140 isn't far off. Good call about the tyre raking though. Quote
