Mark Stanton Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Mark - its a course that you really must walk before you drive it - tis great fun and you won't believe where the finish line is and make a note of where the "stream" crosses the circuit just across from the mound even when its dry Those photo's on Bob Mortimers web page don't do the gradient justice Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Mark - its a course that you really must walk before you drive it Those photo's on Bob Mortimers web page don't do the gradient justice Just as I should have before I drove it first time a couple of years ago. As I hurtled down the first part and reached the dam, I found an overwhelming urge to turn left, much to the surprise of the marshalls stood on the corner who leapt for cover. Personally I blamed the rain on the inside of the scren and the misty visor Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Richard........... you're a rain jinx where llys Y Fran is concerned Hope Brian and Nick have there trailer / shelters on standby again Quote
Kev Bamber Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi Mark... One of my favourite places. Lot of speed to be found over the bridge and through the right hander. After the sweeping left/right get you car back to first gear for the hairpin and keep that neat so you can be on the power early and with decent testicles you can keep it flat to the next corner. your car will jink about a bit but should take it. This next corner is a right hander, through some posts from memory. Make sure you have sighted this when you walk the course you cannot see it easily so you can easily end up either braking way too early or overshooting. You are now on the really tight and twisties. A bit a pace can be carried though the gateway (next to the last bend, then the last bend, a right hander, you have to be really careful cos it's so tight and narrow it's easy to fall off the outside of the track and lose all traction. If dry, your first target is sub 50s. Kev Quote
Rob Navin Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Lot of speed to be found over the bridge and through the right hander. But to be honnest its easy to find too much speed. Great place to drive though Quote
Kev Bamber Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I remember that one clearly Rob - the track didn't quite follow your line out of the corner. Quote
Rob Navin Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I remember that one clearly Rob - the track didn't quite follow your line out of the corner. Your right. I knew it wasn't my fault ! Quote
