gixermark Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hi Guys, In my search for a bike engined kit car.... i've stumbled upon the guys at AB Performance today and had a great chat with them... I'd never really considered anything other than a seven replica... but after a chat they seem to be well priced - and competitive.. anyone here driven one to compare ? or been to many of the 750 race meets that have comments ?? Mark Stanton Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 You really need to get yourself along to a 750MC race meet Fury's are just fine and with a good set-up, engine and driver (no insult intended) can see you leading your class - as noted in previous threads you posted folks have advised that this type of car is much better aerodynamically than a seven Quote
gixermark Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 i hear ya mark but living on the other side of the shuck... i'm trying to do as much research as i can via the web... its expensive for a trip over to kick tyres - i don't mind going over to buy a car.. or more importantly compete There is a series here in NI that is based more around the seven bec engined class... but they will allow the fisher fury's and after taking with andy today - i am tempted to try something different... makes sense in a wheel to wheel scenario too as there is less to lose there is a well speced fisher fury on piston heads at reasonable money too..... samcooke Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 QUOTE as noted in previous threads you posted folks have advised that this type of car is much better aerodynamically than a seven Indeed. Did you not read the responses to your last questions? Quote
gixermark Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 indeed i did to be honest - i wasn't considering the fury.... always fancied a seven, but also had ideally wanted it to be road going too - given this is now not such an option and it will be a 'race/track' car only the fury is certainly starting to be an option. I know there are a couple of decent fury's coming available at the end of the 750mc RGB series, which may be a good option... Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Hi Mark I run a Genesis in the RGB class A. The Furys are fast and handle well. But its like anything else what spec of engine are yoiu looking at?. My personal experince would be to got to the biggest bike engine your budget will allow. Mine runs a ZXR1200 Quacker and its awesome all the spec of the RGB Class cars are similar if you let me have you email address I can email you spec /regs of RGB class A,B,C Andy at AB performance knows his stuff & doesn't talk bull. He has a wealth of bike knowledge plus next time you speak to him ask him about his sidecar experiences!! Also I'll be a silverstone for the next round plus the Birkett 6 Hour in October . If you let me know which cars your looking at I'll take a load of pickys and ask all the usual questions etc Regards Buzz Quote
gixermark Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Thanks Buzz... since these posts - i have bought a stryker with a blade engine... to run in the series here (n ireland) the guys are basically running to the RGB750 class C reg's.. but for seven bodied cars only.. My car is currently with Andy At AB having a few things being done - hope to pick it up this wk end actually - fingers crossed.... And you are correct Andy is a gentleman - knows his stuff - and yes we have spoke about his sidecar days !! i raced bieks too so we've had a few good yarns over the phone !! Mark. Quote
kylemrushall Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 A striker well driven will beat any other seven shaped car with the same engine!!!! An excellent choice Quote
gixermark Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 thanks guys - no pressure then i was looking seriously at a couple of fury's as they make more sense for racing given the aero advantage... but the guys here set up a series just this year and are hoping to get a good number of cars out there for next year - and i wanted to conform to their regs... which is seven bodied cars only.. The styker is tiny... and should go well, its the live axle model... and currently doesn;t have an LSD - but that will be on the winter list.... can't wait to get it out on track Quote
