reaper Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Lucky Guy Ernesto Viso emerged from a huge GP2 accident at Magny-Cours "stable and conscious" after a terrifying crash on the first lap of the race. Viso ran over the back of Michael Ammermuller's car and the Racing Engineering flew and landed upside-down on the barriers. The wreck narrowly missed two marshals and hit a fire extinguisher before landing on the wrong side of the barriers and sliding into an advertising hoarding. The chassis broke just in front of the driver but the two pieces did not separate and this meant that the driver escaped any serious injury. He was reported to be "conscious and stable" and was taken off to the Hopital PIerre Beregovoy in Nevers for checks. Prior to the Viso-Ammermuller accident the two front row drivers - iSport team-mates Timo Glock and Andreas Zuber collided as they came off the grid and Zuber's car bounced over Glock's and the BMW test driver was taken off to the medical centre but is also uninjured. James_N Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Sounds more like a destruction derby Least it was more exciting than the F1 anyway. Quote
donnathespeedfreak Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Hmm... I personally found Kubica's crash more 'interesting', for want of a better word (sorry that sounds horrid but you know what I mean!) (This is the first time I've been on the boardroom in ages- can anyone tell I'm bored?!) Quote
whitlock Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Had Eurosport on while i was messing around the house. Caught the accident and it stopped me in my tracks. Just shows how tough the cars (and drivers) are. Have a look at:Ernesto Viso Interview Good to see that he's up and about The incident at the start was just stupid. More like something, as James_N said, from a destruction derby. Quote
