westfield_bumble Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Popped up to garage tonight to do some odds and sods on me car before harewood to find the door pushed in about a foot. The only good part is the car still there and they didn't do anything to it by the looks of things I've had to move the car for now to another location for the time being as it will need a new garge door on. Norman Verona Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Being serious for a minute (can I do that, yes I can) Are our cars desired by thieves. I've never taken anti-theft precautions on the basis that "who would want it and why" It's not like its saleable. Anyway with my ignition start-up procedure and a competion clutch they'd never drive it away. Is there a market for stolen 7 type cars? Quote
westy666 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 theres some specialist thieves out there i think when it comes to our sort of cars rather than the optunist twocers. you'd vary rarley find the entire car up for resale as a ringer etc instead they'd get broken up and the parts sold on. Quite often they'll turn up with a trailor so no matter what imobilisers/ignition devices we have it'll be gone sorry to hear bout the attempt scotty - wire the garage handle into the mains mate ... just remeber to switch off b4 you go out tho Quote
cast iron Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Thats the second prelit in the area. Glad they never managed Scott. If you want to protect your car just get one of Jeffs Busa stickers on it Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I dont think its the car itself that they desire. i think its the initial joy ride or the dismantling to sell on the parts. Whats the second hand market like for a 220bhp BDR engine or a Quaife dog box or a Tran X LSD or a set of split rims? Edited to add that i'm glad they didnt suceed on this occasion but be warned they will probably be back so beef up security Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I never knew cods sympathise. A sympathetic cod, now theres a thing "The Piece of Cod that Passeth all Understanding" Quote
