Scottish Bloke Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Was with AF but left last year when they tried to have my drawers down Quoted me £120 more to reinsure same car, no change of circs. Shopped around and ended up with a great quote from Sureterm. went back to AF to tell them to shove it......no problem Sir, we'll match your new quote. Aye right says I. You were gonna have my eyes out five minutes ago. Just renewed again last week with Sureterm, cheaper again, guaranteed value £12K, 1500 miles £139.00 Quote

Muttleys V8 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I'm with Flux on the Landy, they gave me a quote on the new toy at £400 which is £300 cheaper than Footman James, Sureterm would not even quote even though I was with them for 3 years with the Red Bull! Quote

Spoke to AF the came back with £190 same lvl of cover etc etc so well happy to stay with them.. We insure the Mrs' Astra through AF - and her previous 16v. For a couple of years we didnt bother ringing round for other quotes - after all, they hadnt really changed in price. Then, as above, we got some (far better) quotes from other companies. Rang back and told AF - and they bettered it. Interestingly, the 'best' company until that point had told me to ring them back if I found a better quote - so I did. And I then rang AF back, and so on. The price kept coming down and down, till finally AF stated that they couldnt beat the current price of the other company without a written quote from them first to prove. I told them it was their loss if they didnt believe the quote - and I was off to insure with the other company. In a flash, AF agreed to better it (and did, by pence IIRC). To be fair, we havent had a renewal from them since that has been bettered elsewhere Quote
