Hope so - I just bought both at Stoneleigh! I bought them off Rally Design and they seem to be the same bits (I think they are agents for the GTS Panther?), and the chap on the stand was certainly talking about using them together.

I'd also appreciate clarification from anyone else.

Since buying the extension, I've also seen posts suggesting you have to modify the chassis to use the extension! Hope that isn't the case! ???  :0

flat four

westfield sell the extension them selves so cant imagine you have to modify anything  unless of course westfields extension differs from say rally design or gts tuning??

Wide or standard body car?

If it's for a narrow you may have to cut out and reweld a chassis rail in the transmission tunnel

It's for a wide body, although the chassis was supposed to be for an MT75, and I'm going with a Type 9.

I'm part way through my build but will be doing a trial fit on the gearbox in a week or so, so guess I'll find out then!

not sure what westfield are selling, i thought the tranny tunnell was same for wide and narrow bodies?

I will call and ask, called them thet say there extension fits all there standard narrow / wide body chassis apart from very early ones with a cross member in the trans tunnell.

They did say the tollerence was very tight when using with a Quaife quick shift, they actually shorten the standard stick but at westfield prices your better off buying a Quaife shift and modifiying the extension if need be.

I purchased a type 9 extension from Westfield (after they told me I would need one) but it wouldn't fit unless I modified the chassis. (move chassis rail) :bangshead:

My car is a wide chassis with Zetec and type 9 gearbox, the chassis is 8 months old, I sent the extension back.

I'm not going to use a extension, when sat in the car the position of the gearstick isn't that bad (but not ideal) and was wondering if Westfield have changed the zetec engine mounts to move the engine back a little. ???

I also remember thinking that even if the extension did fit it would have been rather close to the handbrake lever.

After reading some old posts I was expecting the gearstick to be under the dash without the extension, but it is about 2 inches in front of the dash. :t-up:
