Bryan P Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I would appreciate any help from anybody who has done this. Where is the best place to take the trigger feed wire from. Does it come off the tacho plug if so what colour should it be. 2l zetec Module build 2002 I have only a basic wiring diagram thanks Bryan Its one of these Omex sequential ones Quote
chappers Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 See here if the link works. Basically the black/white signal feed to the tacho on my 1800 zetec made my Omex sequential shift lights work fine, but caused my rev counter to fluctuate. In the end I used a feed from the ECU to the coil pack and set the Omex unit to 2 cylinder operation. Just ease off the rubber boot to the coil pack. Two wires will be the same (12V if I remember), and I think these switch to earth when the spark fires. Either of these will be O.K. to connect to. I spliced to the white/blue trace wire as it came out of the ECU under my dash rather than at the coil pack itself to make the wiring neater. Regards Kev. Quote
Bryan P Posted May 1, 2007 Author Posted May 1, 2007 Kev You wouldnt happen to know which of the 3 wires from the ford coil pack is the one I can use for a feed, in engine end, middle or bulkhead end terms I will then trace it from the coil through the bulkhead and splice there. I cant easily get at my ECU plug end of the loom thanks Bryan Quote
Big R Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Hi Bryan - from my memories of my build, you can use either of the two outside wires - the central wire is the live feed. Quote
chappers Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Hi Bryan - from my memories of my build, you can use either of the two outside wires - the central wire is the live feed. Sounds about right. You can use either of the outer ignition coil negative cables (white/blue trace or white/green trace) to the coil pack (pins 3 or 10 on a MBE 956E ECU). The middle cable (green/yellow trace) is the coil positive. To set the cylinder number on the Omex unit. Press and hold down the +button and turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Release the button and then press the + or - button until both LEDs illuminate to show 2 cylinder mode. Kev. Quote
