Rob Way Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Got the car back yesterday from Pro comp after they fitted the Front anti roll bar. We also decided to have a complete setup done as well. The settings when it went in were all over the place so the car should be alot better I'll find out on the 28th at Wiscombe. Oh yes and the weight well it came in at 520kg's for those who don't know its a narrow se xflow with full screen and wipers. Which is alot better than expected. Its slightly heavier at the front which isn't ideal so I will see what I can do about that. Roll on Wiscombe!! Rob Quote

Rob 520 kgs, that makes me feel good knowing I was giving you over 100kgs start last year. Better watch it this year I've taken the heater out and lost 3 kg off the waist line! Quote

machin Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Pretty much ready for Wiscombe next week Rob, mods all done: Sprint Fuel Tank No boot box Front ARB VW polo Rad and lightweight fan Mega jolt Electronic ignition Been playing with the ignition settings all day.... everything from 28degrees to 38 degrees (@ top end), can't get more than 100bhp... so must be something else.... All this info Rob shows you can't have been trying last year... you've got 130bhp in a car that weighs 520 kg's, and you could only beat me once in my car with 95bhp and 589kg's.....!!!! Quote
machin Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Oh yes and the weight well it came in at 520kg's for those who don't know its a narrow se xflow with full screen and wipers. ... But no interior trim in contravention of the WSCC speed series rules for roadgoing classes!!!! Quote
fordy Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 i think interior trim just means 2 seats and a dashboard !!! Getting mine up to pro-comp in the next week or 2 for a full setup too Think ill be coming in a bit heavier than Rob though - should be coming in around 580Kgs. Quote
lambo Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Without wanting to sound like a party pooper ( ), I would have though that the car would have to have a windscreen demister (heater) to be regarded as a genuine roadgoing car (for road going classes) as it says in the Speed Series regs?? Quote

So, as the majority dont have them, It cant be classed as a 'original fitment' As far as im aware, road going in the speed series just means, 2 seats, a windscreen, an MOT and the silouette above the wheel centres cannot be changed from original - doesnt have to have carpets or interior panels or heater. cast iron Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 SVA requires a Demister, (hence you could have an electric fan heater or electric element front screen) if your car is pre SVA you dont need it. Quote

MOT does not though. What does road legal mean is it SVA or MOT legal. If its SVA no car in the class would pass ! Quote
machin Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I was only winding Rob up really (he sets himself up for it with his cockiness on the boardroom, eh Rob? )... but if we're being picky this is taken from the WSCC Speed Series 2007 regs:- In classes A, B, C and D - The main chassis structure, body tub construction, suspension configuration and number of seats to remain as standard production. No internal trim may be removed except carpet. As the Carpet is specifically mentioned I think it implies that the tunnel carpet and rear bulkhead carpet should remain..... Quote

Err to me it simply reads carpet, not floor carpet, tunnel carpet or rear bulkhead carpet. just carpet. So I gess you can bin anything that is decribed as carpet. If you see what I mean. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 And anagrams of carpet as well Quote
