A few of us from the Thames Valley region are going to the Hembleden classic car show and I thought I'd see if members from other areas would be interested in joing us.

It's a classic car show on the cricket pitch of the lovely village of Hambleden. The Coach and Horses pub next door supplies decent real ale and lays on a BBQ. For those who find the "real" burgers too expensive take along their own picnics. Many owners, especially the Jags, Astons and Morgans picnic as standard. Pay a charity contribution (whatever you think fit) on the way out at the end of the day. All proceeds normally go to air ambulance service.

The show starts at 11:30. It normally takes 20 mins to convoy there from the Bird in Hand. So I suggest we meet at the Bird (Knowl Hill) at 11am and  aim to set off at 11.15.

Below are links to the Thames Valley website for previous years to give you some idea of the event.

The weather forecasts for tomorrow  (see here and here) look pretty gloomy, so I'm cancelling the Hambleden meet. Of course people are free to go along if they wish, but there will not be a convoy from the Bird in Hand as planned.

If anyone is interested we could have our usual meet at the Bird in Hand at midday. Unfortunately I will not be able to make this as I have to be at Heatrow by 2pm.

Let's hope the summer weather returns soon.

Phil
