budmikem Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 std 3.9 efi is about 195bhp I have a JE engine which was 4.8 / 297 bhp / 400 Nm...which was then fitted with ignition packs / mapable ecu...still throws out 300bhp but has a lot of low end torque. Most decent engine builders [off road racing] can take them up to 400bhp at 5.3ltr and special internals. My friend had a 5ltr TVR engined westfield....and it was a bit lively ....especially if changing down the through the box. best upgrade for the V8 is get rid of the clockwork ignition...and use a efi version.
