gp350se Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Hi Folks I have a simpson bandit helmet that was bought in the USA and it has'nt any of the regulation stickers or badges on it. Can it be used in Hillclimb and spint championships. Can you get them checked and passed by a scrutineer. Is it only british simpson helmets that have the relevent stickers. Gavin. Quote
stu999 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Have a rummage around, and inside the headlining - it is often dicreetly marked there Quote
gp350se Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 The only badge is on the strap E11 and 050025/p-000018 and i havn't a clue what that means. I have an AGV and that has all the badges in stitched in the lining. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Nope not on strap as Stu noted try lifting the lining especially at the back of your head it needs the snell approval sticker etc The latest helmets don't have a clear visible sticker honest check under lining If it ain't got snell, BS etc then there's not much chance of a UK scruter passing it Quote
ACW Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Yep. My UK bandit has a Snell on the inside of the shell under the lining. Quote
gp350se Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 dont seem to be able to find anything. I shouldn't have to unstick the lining to find it should i.If its no good it'll had to be a track day hat. Quote

gp350se Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 just about pulled the thing to bits this US spec helmet can't have one. Quote
Guest Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 if it is a recent genuine bandit ,and you are sure it is a "bandit" then it will be a snell M2005 rated helmet which is a US motorcycle spec , motorsport requires snell SA2000 or SA2005 being the most current. the bandit isn't a motorsport lid in current us production. gp350se Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 Thanks for all your help chaps It looks like its going to be a trackday hat. Its a brand new genuine Simpson lid with 2 visors glear and Iridium and it cost £75 so i think it was still a good buy I'll just have to use my AGV for hill climbing. Gavin. Quote
Mid life crisis Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 There is a very cheap Sparco tk helmet on ebay at the moment. Quote
