Sir Greg Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Although it's not going on the road proper till the start of next month, the little blue fella and me got properly aquainted today. The back roads around the farm were nice and dry today and I could resist no longer. This was a special experience as I've not even driven the car since buying it in December. It was brought home, put in the garage and has been having loads of upradges since. Won't bore everyone with the details but 190bhp makes for some pretty entertaining accelaration.... My partner Debs didn't realise that cars could go from zero to scary in such a short space of time..... Roll on next month and getting to know exactly what it (and me) are capable of...... Quote
Norman Verona Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 WILL YOU SHUT UP!! I've at least two more weeks blatless. Quote
V8grunt Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 You need a trip to the green grocers.....for some lemons. Cut in half place in mouth and suck. ........ ...... ...... That will take the silly grins off your faces! Quote

I had to tell someone though............you know how it is.. At least you will be guaranteed blatting weather.......I've got to hope for breaks in the persistant ****** rain. sedsy Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 When i was building my car i was driving it up and down my grove without any bodywork lights seats dash scuttle anything !! me and my mate from over the road had an old metro steering wheel with no nut on it so if you hit a bump it came of in your hand, the expansion tank and battery were cable tied to the chassis rail but it still all ended up on my mates lap ! we had patio chair cushions for seats it was bl**** freezing but great fun. We did 12 miles in about 3 days in a 300 yard grove. Quote
scott beeland Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Groves in Birmingham? Now you're taking the pi**..right? Quote
Norman Verona Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Greg, we had perfect blatting weather last week. It was sunny and warm/hot all week. We lunched outside every day and just sat in the sunshine and dozed off. I'll be finished by the end of the month so expect 6 weeks rain from then on. I was joking, you blat as much as you want. I may forgive you. Quote
sedsy Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Yes Scott we had them a while now i think they came in just after we sent the idea of electric lights and carpet up your way !! Quote
James Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I took a freind to pick up his new westi last tuesday the weather was glorious and the roads were dry and it mad for a nice 320 mile Blat brilliant day! and best of al I discovered that my car is retuning 39.16 miles to the gallon not bad. Quote
Sir Greg Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 I discovered that my car is retuning 39.16 miles to the gallon not bad. James........... I think you need to wear heavier shoes... 39.16 mpg is far too much in a Westy. Your aim should be to get it well under the twenties...... Quote
James Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I must admit that was at a nice constant 75MPH but a few freinds and myself are planning to go to the Nurbergring this summer so this MPG will be great for the journey. I do expect to see 16MPG at the ring! Greg did you get my email with the photo's? Quote
Matt Williams Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 James Sounds like a mapping session might be needed (too lean), how did you manage to stick at 75! Quote
Sir Greg Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 Greg did you get my email with the photo's? I did.....and I responded? Basically I said that she was looking great now. What a lovely new pair they are, and very good value at that price! She has a great looking back end and I'm sure you never tire of looking at it............. Quote
