Re tom tom how do you enter grid ref etc, can't find the option on mine since I went to version 5.

All I get now is home, favorite, address, recent destination, poi, postcode, point on map, city centre and poi in city~??

Navigate to

Move onto next screen

Latitude Longitude

Enter Latitude in degrees

Enter longitude in degrees

You can set whether you use decimal degrees, degrees and decimal minutes or degrees, minutes and seconds

Away you go.

home, favorite, address, recent destination, poi

second screen has:- postcode, point on map, city centre and poi in city.

Version 5 on a pda.

I need to go have a look through my disks, have just had a feeling though that I might have a newer version.

Last year when I went to th US my version of tomtom wouldn't read the us map as my version was newer than the map, I removed it and loaded the older version but now I can't remember if I chnged back or not when I came back.

:bangshead:

I know version 6 lets you do longitude and latitude.

Back shortly.

Edited to say be tomorrow now, wifes doing reports so I can't get to my disks at the moment.

Version 5 via PDA has a GPS locator ............ not quite same as a 710   which does have an easier lat/long user system  ;)  ;)

At least I now know that Garmin Nuvi does do OS grid refs - thanks Fish

I'm running the latest PDA version, the previous version (5) does not work as easily with lat/long as V6.  On V6 you have to go to 'address' to get to enter a postcode, but in V5 'postcode' was a 1st level option.

Just to close this out, I am advised that Garmin nuvi and TomTom 710 and 910 accept OS grid references.

TomTom One does not

Correct  ;)  ;) Tom tom one is fine for UK run about ........................ but from what you've been posting the Tom tom 710 seems ideal as it does do lats/longs  ;)  ;)  ;)............ mine does anyway  ;) and you've checked out Fish's nuvi ............. so pays yer money take your choice  :D  ;)

Tom Tom 710 can also be used as a phone hands free via bluetooth and ipod hook up  ;)  :)
