Darkspeed
and one peice at a time cant do an MP3 but sing along to yourself - Geetar players - any key that suits...... Well, I left Kentucky back in '49 An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry 'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black. One day I devised myself a plan That should be the envy of most any man I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand. CHORUS I'd get it one piece at a time And it wouldn't cost me a dime You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm gonna ride around in style I'm gonna drive everybody wild 'Cause I'll have the only one there is a round. So the very next day when I punched in With my big lunchbox and with help from my friends I left that day with a lunch box full of gears Now, I never considered myself a thief GM wouldn't miss just one little piece Especially if I strung it out over several years. The first day I got me a fuel pump And the next day I got me an engine and a trunk Then I got me a transmission and all of the chrome The little things I could get in my big lunchbox Like nuts, an' bolts, and all four shocks But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's mobile home. Now, up to now my plan went all right 'Til we tried to put it all together one night And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong. The transmission was a '53 And the motor turned out to be a '73 And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone. So we drilled it out so that it would fit And with a little bit of help with an A-daptor kit We had that engine runnin' just like a song Now the headlight' was another sight We had two on the left and one on the right But when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come on. The back end looked kinda funny too But we put it together and when we got thru Well, that's when we noticed that we only had one tail-fin About that time my wife walked out And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts But she opened the door and said "Honey, take me for a spin." So we drove up town just to get the tags And I headed her right on down main drag I could hear everybody laughin' for blocks around But up there at the court house they didn't laugh 'Cause to type it up it took the whole staff And when they got through the title weighed sixty pounds. CHORUS I got it one piece at a time And it didn't cost me a dime You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm gonna ride around in style I'm gonna drive everybody wild 'Cause I'll have the only one there is around. (Spoken) Ugh! Yow, RED RYDER This is the COTTON MOUTH In the PSYCHO-BILLY CADILLAC Come on Huh, This is the COTTON MOUTH And negatory on the cost of this mow-chine there RED RYDER You might say I went right up to the factory And picked it up, it's cheaper that way Ugh!, what model is it? Man On The Clapham Omnibus
What intrigues me is, if there's no truth in it, why are governments around the world (USA excepted) buying into the theory; or saying that they are? My thought is that they really want to make themselves independent of the contemporary sources of oil: the Middle East and Russia in the main, and reduction in demand is the only way. The Middle East because it is a very unstable part of the world where WW3 could well start and cutting off the source of their money (oil) would reduce the risk, and Russia because that country is getting far too rich on oil/gas money and could well prove to be a threat in the future. Selling this view to the Great Unwashed would be difficult so it is dressed up as something that necessitates a big reduction in oil consumption at risk of world destruction; not from nuclear holocaust (the real reason) but from climate change (easier to understand when the climate really is changing anyway, but not due to CO2). It ties in with the desire by UK et al to retain their nuclear deterrents when the practicality of them as weapons in the modern world looks anomalous - they think they might need them if the World Order changes in the way it might if Russia is in the ascendent and the Middle East goes into meltdown. geelhoed
QUOTE You would think that water power may have been the best idea splitting H2O and getting hydrogen / oxygen (that takes care of the melting ice caps)... And wher do you get the energy to pull those atoms apart? It's not that I whole heartedly agree with everything that is shouted by greenpeace (not at all actually) of governments. For example why is E85 not taxed as much as regular fuel? It produces the same amount of CO2 which gets in the air and heats up the planet. That is came from mexican cornfarmers or brasilian sugar who cut burn down loads of trees for the land whcih the deplete and then leave for years, is apparently not of any interest. No, just because the plants that produced the fuel grew 60 million years later it it taxfree? Corn prices will skyrocket and mexicans won't have anything to eat. Aren't we better off growing food for people? You take out the same amount of CO2 growing corn for food or for fuel, food is rapidly processed into manure which helps growing more food instead of floating around as CO2 for years before getting picked up by a plant. A Koenigsegg CXX is exempt from the European 130g/km guideline just becaus it uses E85 to get more power!!!! Talking about goverment hoaxes that E85 takes the cake! Solution: get rid of the horribly inefficient IC engine and go electric. Make hydrogen from oil and use the Carbon for Westfield bodypanels, rely on fission energy until we get fusion running on this planet! (It's been running for 5 billion years 93 million miles away)

brianm
QUOTE I can't believe one documentary can influence you lot so much! "You" certainly have separated yourself from "us" here, I find it kind of funny, but then again I think I have a sense of humour. Not saying that I strongly dissagree with you, but, your points put forward with such apparent tunnel vision will attract few allies. Some people see it one way and some people see it the other, but what I do know is that one will not convince the other. Me? I try to recycle, I try not to waste energy/fuel. Why? because the goverment taxes me into submission, and I can't afford the waste. Plus if this phase of global warming means longer summers, softer winters, then I'll buy it. geelhoed
Let's see what the scientists say about how they've been abused for Martin_Durkin's 'documentary', he's argued that silicon breastimplants are beneficial for a womans health before and complaints of people interviewed for "against nature" caused a "Independent Television Commission" inquiry, and channel 4 had to apologise for his misinterpretation. Again in a documentary about genetic engineering he met with opposition from scientists whos's views had been misrepresented bij this Quack! Now read this article by the leading oceanographer of MIT http://news.independent.co.uk/environ....526.ece And tell me if you choose to believe science or a quack television director with a history of abusing and misleading the interviewees in his 'documentaries'! geelhoed
From the independent: QUOTE And The Great Global Warming Swindle, screened by Channel 4 on Thursday night, convinced many viewers that it is indeed untrue that the gas is to blame for global warming. QUOTE Professor Carl Wunsch, professor of physical oceanography at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology said he had been "completely misrepresented" by the programme, and "totally misled" on its content. He added that he is considering making a formal complaint. QUOTE When told what the commission had found, he said: "That is what happened to me." He said he believes it is "an almost inescapable conclusion" that "if man adds excess CO2 to the atmosphere, the climate will warm". He went on: "The movie was terrible propaganda. It is characteristic of propaganda that you take an area where there is legitimate dispute and you claim straight out that people who disagree with you are swindlers. That is what the film does in any area where some things are subject to argument." I would like to hear from all you guys out there critsising my views so vigourously and tell me how you feel now for beeing suckered in by a television show "Orson Welles -War of the Worlds" style.... OK! Done gloating now......
neilb
QUOTE Solution: get rid of the horribly inefficient IC engine and go electric. great idea, lets all carry tonnes of batteries made out of really heavy metals that will need to be replaced, because the electric that comes out of a wall socket is from a co2 free source
Pepi
So let me get this right! we make too much c02 which causes global warming right? so what happens? due to this greenhouse effect a lot of snow and ice and stuff melts to reveal the earth underneath and because we now have a warmer earth more green stuff (plants and trees etc) grow better, the plant absorb co2 and give off oxygen, the co2 level drops and the planets temperature falls ..... perhaps we can then expect the relevent bodies to tax us because we are'nt producing enough co2? Face it guys we aint gonna win!!!! Trouble is it does'nt matter who you vote for, a government always gets into power!!!
steve_m
One documentary doesn't prove that GW is or isn't man made - discussions and scientific proof over the previous few years has shown GW to be a product of politics, not nature. The politicos have managed to create some fancy looking data from the tame scientists they've thrown money at. You only need to look at some of the loonies supporting it to see where they are coming from - the anti brigade, anti cars, anti planes, anti wealth, anti freedom etc.
spence
Don't worry, as soon as they realise everybody is sick to death of hearing about GW they will drop it and jump on some other bandwagon like they do every time. GOOD............. bring it on, i could do with some warm weather so i can go blatting every day of the year. In the word's of Del Trotter as he sniffs the air "Cow's, Sheep......No it's BULLSH*T" It NEVER took a documentary to change my mind, it just confirmed what i already know!!!!!!!! I don't believe in Adam and Eve and all of your other religious rubbish ( like millions of people ) and i sure ain't gonna believe in this C**P. EVER!!!!!!!! Edited to say as i'm writing this it's on the news again. ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Were all gonna die
