JeffC Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 just sold a dianese leather suit on ebay, made it quite clear that postage was to uk only (easier as courier collects will cost me £10 ) ... anyway bl**** winning bidder is from germany anyone any idea of costs to send something like this.. could it be done at the post office.. rant over ta Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 wiegh it and measure the packaged size , then get quotes from PO , Amex , whatever . cost goes on weight and size of package Quote
neilb Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Try interparcel I find them good on international postage Quote
gee_fin Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Parcelforce/Post Office has been useless on international postage for me. Given up with them tbh, half the stuff comes back, limited tracking, and when it does get there it'll take 3 weeks while you guess where in the world it is. The only Post Office service I'd ever use internationally is Airsure... Quote
marshalla Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 If you said it was UK only then you don't have to send it to Germany. Refund the buyer and claim the fees back from e-bay. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 QUOTE just sold a dianese leather suit Sounds like something Swiss Jeff would wear all the rage in the 70's & early 80's Quote
JeffC Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 cheers.. Ive posted abroad before and It took weeks to get there and was bombarded with emails of wheres me stuff was like being "mark Stanton" for a week I thought about the refund bit.. but in 4 years Just got my first "neutral feedback " yesterday here!! through no fault of mine and all because the mush didnt bother to read the add still a neutral though.. and really dont fancy another ...bl**** ebay Quote
MVS Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 QUOTE Just got my first "neutral feedback " Surely you could dispute this/ have withdrawn by ebay or the buyer. They even state it was their fault for not reading the ad Why should your record get tarnished for some twit that needs their eyes testing Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I've been lucky when using the PO to send abraod by the sound of it. All of my stuff has turned up to the buyer within a week including Italy and France. The only thing is that the prices are horrendous. It cost me £65 to send some MG door cards to Italy and £45 to send a pair of cams to Italy. So moral is, dont under estimate the cost! John Quote
a4gom Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I've had no problem either with the post office and international posting. I posted two large items last year, sent a diving suit and jacket to Hong Kong (cost buyer £125 ) arrived on time. Sent some arches for a mkII escort to holland, arrived on time. On price though they were cheaper than all the other options I tried? Quote

Edited to say buyer, not seller Quote
Boxerman33 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Try interparcel I find them good on international postage Yep another vote from me, we use them quite a lot and they're very good. Various options for sending all fully trackable. Quote

Just one of those things, once you've got one, you kind of relax a little and don't care any more And neutral is nothing really, it doesn't show at all The annoyance/indignation of it will quickly be replaced with 'meh'. Neg him back if it'll help, at the end of the day, it's not the end of the world Quote
