sabelt harnesses

I bought some sabelt harnesses from demon thieves at the autosport show, got quite a reasonable deal at 200 quid for a pair  with 3" lap straps delivered and vat.

Anyway at first they claimed they hadn't got my order (but they did have my 200quid).  Once I had convinced them to honour the agreement they said would be a couple of weeks.  Since then I have had a weekly phone call with them when they promise they will be here next week.  This has been going on for over a month now.  

Anyone else waiting for sabelt harnesses from demon thieves or recently had them supplied.  Im trying to work out if I am paranoid about them not wanting to fulfil my order or whether there is a genuine issue?  

would be interested if youve managed to get them from somewhere else as well

It's not just me then.

I bought & paid for Sabelts at Autosport on 12th Jan.  Also got a good deal.  Money has been taken from my card & no belts have arrived.  I have called DT several times & finally got an answer that the belts were not being manufactured in Italy until week commencing 19th Feb.  They would be shipped to UK w/c 5th March so we should expect to see them shortly after.  This is due to the belts now having FIA dates on them & racing teams orders have been produced in advance of ours.  I have had no reply however as to why they saw fit to debit my card two months before a product is despatched.

cheers chris, seems like you got a fuller answer than i did.  i guess we wont hold our breath for 5th march...

in fairness to DT the last couple of times they have phoned me to let me know what the status is

There is a Sabelt Importer/Dealer in Carlisle, we got our stuff straight from them.  From what I remember we got the first lot off the shelf, returned these as they didn't fit and had some specials made up from Italy, didn't take to long for them to get here either.

Try asking for Dave Kimberley at DT and explain what is happening and I'm sure he'll try to help sort it out - or at least give you a decent reason for the delay    (he's on Blatchat and having raced a Cateringvan now has a f*cking quick Force single seater )

Two weeks ago I also phoned PRI racing who are the dealers listed on www.sabelt.co.uk  They also gave me pretty much the same answer that the racing teams have priority & other belts are only just scheduled for manufacture.

I have also been waiting for 3" sabelt harnesses since Christmas,have contacted Sabelt UK and Sabelt Italy. The latest news i have been told is that they are due to be dispatched from Italy tomorrow(friday) and should receive them on 8th or 9th March. Glad to see i'm not the only one waiting.

Seconded. Ring Steve at Sabelt direct and cancel the DT order...

I needed some new harnesses last year at short notice, when I found my old ones wouldn't work with the new seats, everywhere I called was quoting a month. I phone Sabelt direct, and intially it didn't look good, Steve said even he hadn't seen the new Westfield harness yet. He said he'd make some calls and get back to me, two hous later he phoned to confirm Sabelt had what I wanted in stock and it would be posted out to him that week, he then said he wuld over night them to me FOC. 6 days later they turned up exactly as promised.
