Jenko Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I too play in a band (called Qwench) - we play blues / rock, and are a 3 / 4 piece depending on our female vocalist turning up..... I play guitar and sing... Our bass player just bought him self a 200w orange valve head, 1x15 cab, 4x10 cab, and a music man special edition - I now have trouble keeping pu with my Marshall and Les Paul!..... Quote
The Great Fandango Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Been learning to play the guitar for 2 years... ... still crap. Play a pretty mean American Pie or Yellow Submarine though! Quote
tankerman24 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I have a large organ (cue funny jokes) Its a Hammond with a Lesley cabinet speaker, have played in pubs and clubs a long time ago, Did up to grade seven on the Piano and got an O level in music. dont play much now, never seem to get the time Quote
Gavin Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Started playing guitar about 6 months ago, something I allways wanted to do but never got round to it. Was drunk at a mates house one night and he brought out his guitar messing about and making up stupid songs as he went along, got him to show me a few basics and went and brought a fender acoustic the next day. Not looked back been having lessons and practising every night since, now with a a Squire strat though and a Vamp2 into a little practise amp, makes some brilliant noise ! Just gets so frustrating at times especially when I was trying to grasp barre chords, but I'll get there. Hopefully Quote
Lurksalot Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 so with the bum trumpets and trouser flutes, it sounds like a good wind and horn section You could knock up a soul band with a collection like that Quote
Chris Elworthy Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 so with the bum trumpets and trouser flutes, it sounds like a good wind and horn section You could knock up a soul band with a collection like that Whats the difference between American Soul and British Soul? davew Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Did grade 8 piano when younger, try playing now can only only manage chopsticks Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Play guitar mainly rhythm. I Bought myself a key board at Christmas but finding it very difficult to learn, I can read tab for the guitar but can't read music that well plus I like to do a bit of the old singing as long as I can pick the key! My mum was quite the star and she was a great singer and did the clubs around the North of England. Buzz Quote
Boney Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Hi, here goes, been in a few bands playing bass but not been in a one for many years now. the list is as follows 1) The Eppies 2) Doctor white and the regulars 3) Bug muff 4) Vindaloo breakfast ( web page here - hehe still remember recording Mr XR3 in a nursery school but thats another story ) 5) A Tokin gesture helped out with a lot of bands and toured up and down in an ambulance (bedford bull nose bought for 50 quid in france and hand painted in battle ship grey) for a long time. Loved every minute of those days but when you get payed in beer from pubs and clubs, and away from home months on end you have to settle down at some time. Still got my long hair though To anyone thinking of joining a band do it, have many fond memories BOney Quote

Lurksalot Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 Top Call Mr Chairman sir ........ Unfortunately Curborughs dates always seem to fall on the same day as my daughters birthday so pass outs for me on that weekend would be as rare as rocking horse poo calling Boney back to the Low End Quote
CrashBangWallop Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 My uncle was lead singer of Tygers Of Pan-Tang. He tried to teach me guitar but, I was a stroppy teenager and never took much interest. I now have a MIDI keyboard, full of twiddly and slidey bits and Propellerheads' Reason. Great fun. Neil Quote
