Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Saw one of these the other day and out of curiosity looked in Autotrader for a price of a good example. Here £14000 no less! Anybody remember the Met Police using these? Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 No but I have always had the impression that they were worth much more than £14k Quote
steve_m Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 £14k is very high for a Dart, maybe it's the start of Spring madness pricing for convertables ? It would have to be in immaculate condition, as new. Some of the classic dealers have put their prices up seriously high over the last few months, a year ago MG Roadsters were fetching £4K for a good one and £6k for one in immaculate condition - now they want £10k for the best and £8k for good. Are you looking to buy one ? Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Are you looking to buy one ? No, not really but I'm always fascinated by 'interesting' cars that just might be going for a song. I saw a very sad looking Jensen Interceptor in a back yard behind some shops in Three Bridges, Crawley a few years ago. The owner had kept it there for ten years with the avowed intention of restoring it. Some hopes. BTW the vendor of that Dart claims that it's fully restored with rebuilt engine and drivetrain. Perhaps that accounts for the price? Quote
KerryS Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 There was a fellow student at college who had one of them. Can you believe it? A Mech Eng student with a Daimler in London!!! Must have been absolutely loaded with £££ but in that case why do Mech Eng degree??? There was another guy with a Lotus 6 as well - definitely preferred that even then (circa 1971) Quote
