Ady1
Hi, After a first attempt to install my Rover V8 into the chassis today I am really stuggling to keep all 3 clutch plates aligned while I bolt the whole thing to the flywheel. The only way I could think of is to use a knackered old input shaft as a dolly then bolt the clutch on to gain the compression on the plates. Has anyone got any suggestions? If not, any 1" x 23 spline input shafts going spare? Ady

V 8
Ady, you'll need an old input shaft. Not only do you need to align the plates, you need to align the splines aswell. You ought to be able to get hold of one of those easily enough

andybennie
Hi If you cant lay your hands on a shaft, a number of years ago I did as someone has already suggested, spin one out of wood on a lathe and then araldite one home wooden spline the same lenght as the three plates (you do not require all splines for alignment) making sure the spline is running in line with the wooden tool.
