day Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I'm in the middle of lowering my floor on my narrow body, I made 4 of these pans so i could experiment with fitting them, then if i wrecked any i'd have spares, but the first pair went together with no hangups, hence i've got 2 spare ones. They measure 395 wide inside, 657 long inside dimension, 50 deep, 25mm flange all round, tapered up at the front. Made from 2 mm thick ally. The corners will need welding up, could only afford to get 1 pair welded. Will need a bit of fettling to make them a perfect fit as i left the flanges a little big. It's a pretty involved job to do with the body on the car, would be easier with the body off. I'm also fitting steel bands across to strength it all up, could supply these too if required, haven't made those yet. Looking for somewhere around £40 for the pair.
Major Stare Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 OMG... some has tipped your car onto its side
a4gom Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 50mm Is that what the new factory cars are? I'd only have 65mm between my and the floor. Eye bolt for crotch strap bottoms out on spirited drives as it is.
day Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 OMG... some has tipped your car onto its side I just pulled into the drive a bit quick back in november and thats where it landed
Buzz Billsberry Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Good job Dale the factory ones don't use a flange type fitting to the chassis(down the length). They come inside the car and rivet to the side of the chassis instead of a flange to the bottom of the chassis. but that wouldn't make much difference it was just an observation. Good price as well Buzz

Good price as well Buzz I did think of doing it that way, but it would have meant drilling a load more holes in the chassis, which ain't the best thing, so utilising the origonal holes is the best way to go for this retro fit, and probly the safest from a strength point of view.
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 What happened to the new handbrake design you intimatted at a few weeks back?

day Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 What happened to the new handbrake design you intimatted at a few weeks back? The floor lowering project has delayed the handbrake project, soon as the interior is back in i'll post some photo's.
