DAVE O Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Just phoned aol customer services to give notice to cancel broadband subscription. Thought of going to another provider. Straight away they offered to double the speed and reduce the cost from £17.99 a month to £9.99. Result - give it ago Quote

Doubt it - it's worth more to them to keep you.... They also offered a phone package to run alongside at no extra cost - sounded similar to talk talk. Only reason I didnt take that is we have quite a few contacts on tt and it's free to call them... Quote
Rory's Dad Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Hasn't Talk Talk taken over the AOL in the UK?? Rory's Dad Quote

DAVE O Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Double speed connection now set up - can't fault their service - and wow it's quick Quote
Boomy Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Blueyonder sent me a letter and emailed to say i could go from 4 meg to 10 meg and they would also knock £15 off a month.I didn't have to call them. See, you should have got a decent ISP to start with Then again, it's all going Virgin now so we shall see if they can provide such a superb service. I think i have called blueyonder customer support 3 or 4 times in 6/7 years and visited the status page about the same. They installed my first 512 bb connection on Xmas eve i seem to remember. They then swapped over my dead modem (i killed it) in a matter of days. They fitted my bb connection in my new house on the day we moved in and left me loads of extra cable when i requested it. When they had a major outage we got money off... Virgin have a lot to live up to.. Quote
david.c Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Have just got off phone from AOL --------- I was on Gold = 2MB for £24.99 -------------moved me onto Silver = still 2MB for £9.99 Cheers for the tip off Dave Quote
adhawkins Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 really don't want to move, as I don't want to change email addy. Register yourself a domain with 123-reg. Something like £2.50 a year. That includes free e-mail forwarding. You'll never need to change your e-mail address again. If you change ISPs in the future, you just update the address it forwards too. Andy Quote
