Matt Seabrook Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Had a Sky HD box fitted today and my partner was told that the Pioneer Plasma TV would need the enginer to come out and sort the TV out as it is not displaying HD. Has anybody else had this? Quote
V8grunt Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 No! Seriously I'm waiting for the robbing gits to drop there price before I go HD Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Mine was plug and play Did he say why it wasn't, seams very strange can you view hd channels 145 bbc hd is viewable without sky's setup Quote
pistonbroke Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 No experience , but I bet all he will do is enter some sort of code ( probably using the remote control buttons ) , enter "set up mode" adjust a few perameters , and bob's yer uncle . That about sums a tv engineers lot these days , there isnt much more they can do to be honest . Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Can view 145 Barry but not via the HD cable only via scart. On the TV set up the HD input is greyed out. Having just moved into a new house I cant find the instruction book for the PDP-436SXE TV Quote

Pew Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Pioneer manuals like most other manufacturers can be found on their support pages:- Here for your TV Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Aaaaaa Bks I tried that last night but the link would not work for me then so thought the site was having technical problems Quote
Gez Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 i've recently installed a pioneer plasma, and had no problems with the HD content being displayed (as long as you are on the right input channel!), it automatically detected that it had HD content coming through, and what resolution it was... the only problem i had was on my telewest tv drive box, getting it to output HD signal via HDMI instead of scart signal. Until i sorted this i just got a blank screen when i selected the HD input channel. My telewest box did not output via HDMI and scart at the same time, and i didn't know how to switch it to output in HDMI till i rang them. Don't know if this helps (don't want to teach you to suckk eggs!). Gez Quote
