I need to edit a few videos, what software do you recomend?

got any string that needs editing?

Editing software can range from free (bundled with Windows XP) To thousands of pounds worth.

So 'Best' needs to be quantified by requirements or at least budget

For really basic editing you can't go wrong with the freebie MovieMaker2 in Windows XP.

Other software to look at is Adobe Premiere Elements (or Premiere for more advanced stuff & more cost!), ULead Video Studio, Pinnacle Studio and Sony Vegas.

Personally I use EditStudio5 from a company called Pure Motion. Not too expensive and very feature rich.

in the end it all comes down to what you get on with and what you like. Most programs you can try before you buy.

I've always used Adobe Premiere, from the old 4.2lite that came with my camcorder seven years ago, upgrading every time until I'm now on the latest version.

Best. Editing. Software. Ever.

Not used my dv camcorder yet but it came with Arcsoft Video Impression Ver.2

Any good?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 with Adobe After Effects 7.0 for special effect stuff, love it.  Edit Studio used to crash on my machine for some reason so never got to use it.

Ive tried Nero , Arcsoft , Adobe, Ulead, windows  :t-up:

Have had the same failure rates with them all .

To much pizzing about for my liking .

I now pay to go to the cinema once a month

Its much cheaper in the long run and me missus enjoys it to,  'cos she, "gets bored" watching  " them funny little cars that all look the same, wizzing round and round on the same track stuff "

Bless her

:p
