Multiple e-mail problem

When I first took over as AO I had no prblems sending e-mails out to the 70 or 80 members in my area. But last week my e-mail system decided that this was too many recipients, and refuses to send the e-mail. The only way I can get it out is by cutting and pasting the addressees and sending the e-mail out to about 15 people at a time. So for every message I have to send out 5 e-mails. :bangshead: I've no idea why it suddenly started doing this. I didn't change anything.

I cannot see how to change the maximum number of recipients for my e-mail. Any advice on fixing this?

There are no settings in Outlook / Outlook Express that I know of to restrict the number of recipients, so unless its something like your personal firewall preventing it, Id say its most likely to be a restriction on the outgoing SMTP server thats provided by your ISP to prevent spam e-mail being sent through their servers, so there may not be anything you can change.

What you could do is speak to your ISP and ask them if there is an alternative SMTP server (maybe one that needs authorisation - ie password protected with your ISP username/password) that you can send mail through with less restriction on.

If it does turn out to be your ISP, the alternative is to do as I do and pay seperately for a domain name and mail hosting (about £10/year), then you'll have your own domain with unlimited email addresses and will be given the host's SMTP server to use instead of your ISPs.

Another big advantage of this is when you change ISP, you don't need to change e-mail addresses.

Is this of any interest? ???

I didn't know about that. That's excellent! I'll try to sort it out this evening (hopefully).

Many thanks
