Evening all,

Just thought I'd let you know how impressed I was with the new Mercedes museum in Stuttgart. I'm often working nearby and managed to sneak along for a look last week. Well worth it!

The architecture of the building is fantastic with the displays laid out in a double helix over 7 floors. You start at the top way back at the end of the 19th centuary and as you work down to the first floor you move through history up to the modern vehicles. Not only are there cars in here, but lorries, busses, bikes and aero engines. Lots of photos and an audio guide make it very enjoyable.

Once you've finished the walk around you are guided to the museum shop where you can buy pretty much anything with a Mercedes logo on it (the big guide book is a bargain at about £9). Once you exit the shop you can go in to what surely is the biggest car show room on earth! Four floors full of Mercs of every type, you don't even get hassled by sales men!

So, well worth a visit if you're ever in southern Germany.  If you go in March or September there's the added benifit of two very large beer festivals!
