Barry Ashcroft Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I need to download a new antivirus software package from bt as part of my home hub package. I have to uninstall the old norton which I have done through add/remove programmes it refuses to download new version which sanjit on tech support says that add/remove has not removed it all I need to remove it from the registry but he will not tell me how to do it. So can anybody tell me how to do this before I hurl the laptop at the wall Quote
zoso Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 So can anybody tell me how to do this before I hurl the laptop at the wall Un plug all the wires, hold it in your right hand and with a cricket toss motion aim for the nearest structural wall... Sorry, couldn't resist. Quote
neilwillis Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 The easiest and safest way is to buy a registry maintenance tool. Tampering with the registry if you don't know what you're doing can be a recipe for disaster. I use one called Registry Mechanic, and it's been totally reliable. cost about £20.00 on-line Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Managed to get hold of Mr Hawkins via MSN and he has sorted it for me. He directed me to this website worked first time Norton Removal Tool Quote
