Andy @ Cat Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Fireblade engine, 919cc with only 6771 miles shown on clock. I bought this engine as a spare and have never needed it. Comes complete with carbs, ecu, engine loom and original invoice from Blacks Bike Shop of £1200.00. Fitted to an engine stand. Can be run if a battery is connected, though with no exhaust fitted it is very loud. £690.00. Email me andy@catmotorsport.co.uk of phone me on 01274 562474

funbobby Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Could this be an option Slip to replace ours. What do you reckon Ed? Cheers Dunc
Al Yupright Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 You'll find it easier sticking with an 893, both due to differences in the installation (gear lever is reversed for example) and because if you fit a 919 you would then need a catalytic converter to get through MOT.
Andrew Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 QUOTE and because if you fit a 919 you would then need a catalytic converter to get through MOT. You sure? I thought the SVA set the emission levels for the MOT, then you can stick what engine you like in after that..
Al Yupright Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 You have to in theory go through the same process as you did at SVA. Hence if you can prove your engine is pre-95, by providing evidence of the engine number then you get the pre-cat test, whereas if you can't you get the cat test. I say in theory, cos a lot of MOT stations will make it up as they go along... But them's what the rules say...this was changed a year or two ago. I MOTed it since then and they didnt check though.
Andy @ Cat Posted May 10, 2007 Author Posted May 10, 2007 Sorry Slippy, I sold it on eBay and forgot about this ad.
