Ok all you travellers we are looking for a bit of advice please (by travellers i meant people who do a lot of driving around not pikeys  :p  although your opinion would also be accepted)

We will be travelling to the Autosport show on Friday from Keighley, last year we stopped for some breakfast at one of the service stations on route.   This year we would like to arrive at the NEC with some money still in our pockets YKWIM.

We will be travelling along the M62, down the M1 and then the A/M42

Ideally we are looking for a greasy spoon close to one of the junctions on the M1 between the M62 and the A42. We want to get going down the M1 before we stop but not too far as Stella and an empty stomach don't mix too well.  :p

TIA

Asking a couple of the boys in the office there is not much choice, the only one they know which is okay but not great is come off at J24 M1 signposted services and East Midlands Airport, follow signs to services and there is a 24 hours snack bar in the layby just before the roundabout to the services.

When you come out of the layby, upto the roundabout take a left and you can get straight onto the A42.

Hope that helps.

Most of the major supermarket chains have stores that do all day breakfasts and they are usually located on the outskirts of towns. Tesco,s breakfast takes some beating.

There is a Tesco  about 500 m from the first Ashby  de la zouch Turn going south down the M42. Leave the M42 turn right (last  but one exit) down the hill and left at the Roundabout. They have a "resturant". There is also a McDonalds on the last exit before you go north again.

Petrol station there too which sells 97.

[i live about 1mile from there and if you pm me you can have my phone number in case of emergency -I'm assuming you are gonig by Wessie]

trace steps back on to A38 then head towards birmingham

come off A38 onto A446 passed belfery golf course into nec

We are not coming in a westfield, but by minibus, we might get 9 in the car but there would be no room for beer.

Cidersurfer ur a star, had that in my fav's on old p.c. but couldn't remember the address.

going southbound on m1, off at j27, take 3rd exit, park up on layby that appears *immediately* on right, walk to big yellow container type looking thing, order, scoff, burp, pay.

Mind, never been in it myself so can't vouch for quality (though it's been there at least a decade and always seems busy).

Might join you, depending on time.

I must protest Mr Stanton...

A thin smear of butter adds to the already greasy bacon to make a proper helath problem....

You need butter...
