I am picking up a Nissan primera 2.0 TD on Wednesday and i was just wondering if anyone on hear has had any experience i tuning TD cars ?

i know i can go to superchips and spend £££ for some extra power but i have a feeling its just a boost hike and some extra fuel pressure

The ability to 'chip' depends whether the fuelling is controlled mechanically or electronically - I dont honestly know for Primera's...

Mechanical control can still be tuned, it is just a bit more of a hands on process :t-up: As long as the pump can be fettled to get more fuel and the boost can be controlled :t-up:

A 2 litre Primera is the old single cam London Taxi engine I realy wouldnt bother. It will be flat as a fart and little will change it. They stopepd selling them in some countries as a cold hill start was impossible :(

If however its the later 2.2 16V engine then speak to someone on here like JeffC.  :t-up:

Speak to Jamie @ Shires Performance on 07967 377453 or see www.sp-tuning.co.uk. He did my Peugeot with good results for not a lot of money. (Thanks for the tip JC  :t-up: )

Good luck We havent made them in over 5 years. They have a mechanical injection with an ECU to control some features on the pump. The heads are a very poor design not really intended for turbocharging, whatever you do dont increase the boost. I would look at what power increase could be gauranteed before you part with the readies. ???
