CedricTheBrave Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I missed the last bulk buy unfortunatly but I am now looking at a complete Simpson system. Did anyone who has a Duratec car go for the bonnet exit as I am undecided and would like a look at some pictures if possible? Quote
Guest Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Not specifically relevant to the topic but i have had a Simpson system fitted after the official bulk buy ended. Matt Simpson told me that the bulk buy price was to be "left open open indefinately". So you should get a full system for £725 +VAT Back on topic... If it was my car i'd go for a low exit version as i prefer the look. Quote
stu999 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Bonnet exit IMHO. Easier to install/uninstall manifold, straighter run from the head (at least on a VX) and less bends in the manifold pipework. Looks better too Quote
JeffC Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 unsure if its the same for a simpsons durawallop but My pal was told by SBD powerwise there was no difference between their bonnet exit / low exit on the Vx system.. If I was buying new I would go bonnet exit for looks alone Look on westfiledmans website his is bonet exit and looks hornyfond Quote
CedricTheBrave Posted January 6, 2007 Author Posted January 6, 2007 swinging the bonnet exit way atm thanks for the replys guys Quote
Martin Keene Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Bonnet exit everytime... Even if only for Stu's first reason. Quote
moody Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Something here to consider. Are you using widetrack? Most of the Duratec engine installations I've seen are mounted well forward in the chassis, which may cause your cycle wing to clash with a bonnet exiting primary. Quote
CedricTheBrave Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Moody My engine is only 80mm from the baulkhead I have used different mountings etc and pretty much everything is non standard. looking at both low and bonnet I think I should have plenty of room. i just gotta save me pennies a bit more after my dog just had her spleen removed I am now officially broke again thanks for the pictures and replys all very usefull Quote
