Bean Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I got one for Xmas, decided on the one I wanted then asked Santa Dabs 19" Excellent quality screen, 19" with DVI, 8ms response time and 1280x1024 resolution You can't do better IMO for less than £150. Dual screens, yes as long as your graphics card supports it. Quote
Boomy Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 You can use 2 pc's on any monitor with any card if you don't mind switching from one display to the other. If your monitor doesn't have dual inputs (on mine for example i have the Xbox 360 plugged into it and the PC) you can just buy a VGA switch box. You then press a button and flick from one to the other. You can also buy a more advanced box that will allow 2 pc's to use the same monitor but it will also use just one keyboard and one mouse for both pc's. Is that the sort of thing you mean? Quote
wacomuk Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 we dont need to run both pc`s at the same time. one will be for work the other will be for porn sorry i mean general use Quote
Boomy Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 You can still use a simple box to switch then. Or like i say, if you get a monitor with twin inputs, you just plug both pc's into it. That will allow you to use both at the same time if you ever wanted to by just pressing a button on the monitor to switch its inputs. Or, you just boot up with either pc and the monitor will detect it and turn on as normal. Quote
davidgh Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 19" monitor should have 1280x1024 native resolution anyway. Response time is key if you wish to view video or play games. I had the same decision last week, and, after a little research, chose: Samsung SyncMaster 960BG - TFT - 19" Device Type: Flat panel display / TFT active matrix Dimensions (WxDxH): 49.2 cm x 13.7 cm x 54.7 cm Weight: 5.6 kg Diagonal Size: 19" Dot Pitch / Pixel Pitch: 0.294 mm Max Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Colour support: Up to 16.2 million colors Image Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Response Time: 4 ms Image Brightness: 300 cd/m2 Image Contrast Ratio: 700:1 Digital Video Standard: Digital Visual Interface (DVI) Interface: DVI, VGA (HD-15) Compliant Standards: DDC-2B, EPA Energy Star, ISO 13406-2 Power Consumption Operational: 38 Watt Manufacturer Warranty: 3 years warranty Your profile is not that helpful on location, but Microbytes in Lichfield sold me one at around £170 -- which I thought was pretty ok value. HTH Edited to say: having seen the price on Amazon, I think Microbytes might well have got it wrong If you fancy a go, talk to Richard on 01543 250377. Quote
