VDO Speedo Sender

I'm trying to wire up the VDO speedo into my SEi.

I bought a speed sender off of ebay, thinking I could just use the VDO manual.

And now I can't get it to do anything.

The manual says the wires should be red, black and off white, and the wires I've got are red, green and blue.

I'm sat here, trying to test it by waving the magnets at it, but it doesn't seem to want to do anything.

Anyone seen one before?
