Copies of the old style driving licence

I have a pink version of the old licence 'cos mine (green one) was nicked from my pocket in my office and had to be replaced with an official copy. I'll look at it under uv and see what it says....

The licence A4 and greenish in colour.  He's had it since my parent moved into their house 30 years ago.  The only time it's been out of his hands is when he gave it to his previous employer to be checked about 10 year ago.

For them to have copied it they would have had to forge his signature and replicate 20 years of folding marks.

He's confirmed that he has a licence with the DVLA, but the comapny still want him to get a new one.

Maybe it's worth a trip to the police station so he can get proof that it isn't a forgery.  Other than that it' £19 for a new one, which is money that could be spent buying me more Christmas presents  :p  :p  :p .

Thanks

Well my pink one has no sign of 'FAKE' on it even under uv, sorry. Noo Labaa are inteding to make us all get photo licences soon anyway, as part of knowing our grandparents' inside leg measurements.

Make sure you get a Sergeant or above, then!  Most PCs will not have seen an 'old' style pink/green licence, and will probably recommend that you get a new one with a photo on it.  As regards the 'old' old style 'Log Book' licence, there cannot be that many people left alive and still driving who have stayed in the same house long enough to keep one of those.

My dad is 74, and I am pretty sure that he had to go over to the A4 folded paper licence when I was still in short trousers, which was at least couple of years ago. ;)  ;)

MOTCO is right, Big Bruvva wants us all to carry ID cards really, and a photo licence is just doing it by the back door.
