MVS Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 As per title really. Looking for a good engine ECU remap for a new shape Shogun diesel. I would be looking for a little more torque and hopefully better mpg because of it. I have little experience of Jap 4x4's so haven't really got a clue of who may do one, and how good they are. Recommendations as to who is good etc much appreciated. TIA Mike. Quote
JeffC Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 man that does my stuff is highly recomended on price and quality.. he does most remapps but sometimes it will depend on what ecu is fitted I can have a word with him and poss get it done next week , think hes up in the area doing some for me mon or tues. . potster Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Just bought a new 3.2 Shogun and have been considering the upgrade myself Mitsubishi offer a Ralliart Power Upgrade called Rallitronic it increases power to 182bhp / 332lb.ft Part # MME41315 656.37 its about £600 so not cheap but doesn't invalidate your warranty There is one on ebay oryZ32094QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190057434156" target="_blank">HERE but it says its for the shogun sport but as its the same part # may just need reprogramming? MVS Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Many thanks chaps, I knew you guys would know. I am not likely to get the car till sometime next week due to a cherished transfer, (DVLA offices can be a right pain ) Car is a late 2005. I am thinking that if Mitsubishi offer their own that is warranted, I may go down that road........although? Jeff C if you speak to your chap, could you ask him if the re-map is visible to the dealer on the service lappy. Oh and the usual, torque figs & price. Please and thank you Quote
JeffC Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 spoke to my man , he has just ordered some software to do mitsibishis but wont know for a couple of weeks if it will work with the new shoguns.. wont be detectable , same gains as every one else quotes.. pricewise I would hazzard a guess at £250- £300 tops.. Ps. he did my X5 and it transformed it performance wise Quote
MVS Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Ta Jeff, could you post if he can do newer ones when he finds out. The Ralliart thing looks to be a piggy-back unit, which can sometimes be a pain from what I've heard wrt Land Rover products, but will query the dealer, still it sounds expensive for a plug in box. MVS Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Have spoken to supplying dealer, as the car was a dealer demo. Turns out the car already has the Mitsubishi / Ralliart upgrade kit on it as the car was run by one of the dealer managers and he wanted it on. .It would have cost £800 to have it done (which seems very steep ) I thought it drove a lot better than previous ones I have driven I thought it was nippier cos it was a SWB and a bit lighter as I have only driven the LWB previously . Anyway don't think remapping the ECU will help anymore Unless you can suggest otherwise Jeff?? Quote
JeffC Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 he must be a sh*t salesman , I would have got another £400 out of yer to leave the chip on remap will be much improved on a plug in, I f it is a box take off and sell it on ebay , pay for a remap and get cash back Quote

Salesman was a bit of a plank cos he also wrote the sales order out wrong (he didn't use a calculator ) and I came out £100 better off, without trying So that's going towards the second 6months of tax he wouldn't give me 5 minutes earlier Quote
potster Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 MVS I would be interested in a run out in yours sometime if possible??? before I consider parting with some more hard earned cash Quote
MVS Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 MVS I would be interested in a run out in yours sometime if possible??? before I consider parting with some more hard earned cash I'm sure that could be arranged sometime when I've got it. I will be a bit busy the week or so after I get it cos the Wessy is booked in @ the factory, and I should hopefully have the SVA just after that in Beverley ( they have had my app for 2 weeks so hoping to hear something from them very soon). I see you are the other side of the Sunny North Yorks, are you thinking of meeting half way or coming over for fish & chips on the sea-front ? Edited: wish I could bl@@dy type/spell. Quote
potster Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I'm sure I can persuade the other half to partake in F&C by the sea side No rush for a run out. I'm still recovering from buying the car so not spending another £700 will help. I'll probably head over after xmas sometime. Quote
MVS Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 No worries. PM me when you fancy breathing the sea air. Quote
