stu999 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Could someone explain to me just what is going on in this advert? Lots of puppets running around, shouting "come on" in different voices? Am I missing the point? Makes me want to set fire to Corsa, not buy one... Quote
deano.1 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Funny thing Stu but i read your post and thought of Victor Meldrew Quote
nlash Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 The Astras doing aerobatics is just as bad. Marketing execs for ya. Pay em £60,000+ a year and thats the best they can come up with Quote
Boomy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 It's all planned. Someones Granny will make them for an Xmas gift, sell a few on ebay etc, people will go mad for them and then Vauxhall will produce their own and stop anyone else producing them. They should be hanging up next to car mats in a showroom near you soon but will be in short supply before long to keep interest and prices up. Within a few months, women owners of corsas will have them sitting on the rear parcel shelf and the papers will be telling tales of how collectors are smashing windows and stealing them. Once it has all died down and people no longer want to risk broken windows, they will be gathering dust in a cupboard or loft. Then, in 30/40 years time, ones with the original Vauxhall tags still attached will fetch mega money to classic car collectors who have spent thousands on making their corsas look like new again. The ultimate accessory. Yep, remember the BT Chameleon (sp)? You know the one that sang along to Culture Clubs 80's no1 record. Well I had one bought for me and after a month it was up in the loft never to be seen again. neilb Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 They know that most of there corsas are driven by muppits playing load music so they have put them on to the ad.. Quote
studbuckle Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I think most of their 60K was spent on drugs C'Mon - Isn't that something that comes out of B*ll**ks Good to see you're true to the brand Windy All the folks at GMAC(ish) Bradford think they're great. Apart from Carla thankfully who also thinks they're a load of spherical body parts Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 but the end result is it puts the brand in your head its called brand awareness. It gets you talking about it even if you are not in the market for a new car or wanting to buy a vauxhall...but somebody will Buzz Quote
Morbius Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 They know that most of there corsas are driven by muppits playing load music so they have put them on to the ad.. What about that old boy who drove off a 100 foot cliff, got out and walked away unscathed? That will do wonders for their product safety claims. A bit like the old Volvo crash test dummy ads. Quote
