mark.anson Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 not withstanding the bit in the regs that say "Cars shall be presented in an MOT condition etc" do class F cars still have to be fitted with a passenger seat. The regs state that A B C and D cannot remove trim except carpet but say nothing about F. Mark Quote
ACW Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I asked for clarification on this a few year ago when F was created and I entered it. It was confirmed a passenger seat was required as it is a roadgoing class. Quote
a4gom Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I read the regs and wondered the same as mark i'll be in E but its the same. QUOTE It was confirmed a passenger seat was required as it is a roadgoing class If this is the case imo the regs need amending, the fact that they specify "and number of seats to remain" in ABCD but its not specified in E&F reads as if you don't need them, it is a modified road going class. I'm not 100% but if if you took if for an MOT without a passenger seat I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fail. I think the problem is if you have more seats than that stated on the log book not less. I never had a problem getting an MOT for any of my rally cars with no back seats. Quote

Terry Everall Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 All in E and F ran with passenger seat in 2006 so we believed you need one and they are added weight!. In non road going you do not need one. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Check Blue Book roadgoing cars need a trimmed passenger seat drivers seat may be replaced with one more suited for motorsport use Classes E & F are roadgoing classes Quote
