V 8 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Yep, I'll have a go aswell. Don't worry Steve, I'll be in the slick, sticky, less than 2" off the ground, not cricket class, so you'll be ble to bring the hairdryer assisted Raleigh Wisp Quote

guy g Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 This used to be the CCC Championship I think. If it hasn't improved I wouldn't bother - there are much better championships out there. I did it in 2000 - mainly the events that coincided with other championships. I won the class and drove all the way down to some dive hear Gatwick in thick fog for the prize giving, sat for 2 or 3 hours with no-one speaking to me and vowed never to bother again. The only good thing about the experience was the trophy - a personalised version of one of those cartoons that used to appear in the back of CCC. Now that PPC have taken over I would expect to find that big chrome exhausts, flourescent green lights under the car and a subwoofer the size of a decent garden shed have become compuslory. Quote

steve_m Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 Just received an e-mail from Philip Wood the co-ordinator and he's said no cross ply tyres allowed for 1B but apart from that 2007 rules are same as 2006. Quote

guy g Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 QUOTE Must be the magnetic personality m8!! I think it was the Tommy Cooper impressions that you taught me that did it!! I'm fine - just getting a car ready to do some proper racing. Should have neen finished for the last half of this season but you know how hard it is in the motivation dept when you're getting on a bit. Just wandered onto the forum during a very wet and boring Friday afternoon Quote
davidgh Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Yes - it looks good. 7 events within an hour of home. I might have a dabble myself See you there John Only catch as far as I can see is that Busas would seem to be in with the <1700cc CECs..... ....have to up our game Quote
cast iron Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Still waiting to see which rounds are in ours else its the local Auto66 champ and no trailer again for me. 3850 miles just about finished me off this year Quote
Robandcolin Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I was looking at this PPC championship too it looks good for us southerners. Although I'll have to find some more speed to catch some of you though. Rob Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 QUOTE Only catch as far as I can see is that Busas would seem to be in with the <1700cc CECs..... Not necessarily David. They are only streets ahead if on Avon ACB10s and well driven. Next years regs apparently rules out crossply list 1B's thus limiting the choice of tyre to 1 or 2 types in particular. i notice from last years results that there were no entries in the <1700 class anyway and a MegaBurp is not match for the mighty Puma John Quote
davidgh Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Next years regs apparently rules out crossply list 1B's You're right, John. Phil confirmed for me today that ACB10s (any other X-plies around?) will be banned next year. I can confirm that there should be a couple of people for you to play with in the <1700cc lot next year. All best, D Quote

Guest Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I'm interested in this series... but no ACB10's has stuffed me a bit... i have a set of Avon CR500 that is use as wets, but i think they're crossply too... don't really want to buy another set of rims with new tyres for a different series. Does anyone know if CR500's are crossply and hence excluded? Quote
