Scottish Westy Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Anybody thought of fitting these seats to their kitcar? I just bought a pair through a source that deals directly with Cobra and was very pleased with the communications, ability to supply custom made seats, price and speed of delivery. If anybody would like further details of spec, price and contact details then PM me, I can also send you pictures of the seats in the car (I would add them to this post if I knew how). Quote
Chasmon Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 chap on here used to sell them, you could even have westfield stitched in instead of cobra.... Edit: This was the chap here Quote
dibbly Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Been considering these for a while now, can anyone comment on their weight and comfort/support?? Quote
Scottish Westy Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 Having the car off the road for winter I cannot give an honest reply, but having the lumber supports and the headrest slots with harness I would expect them to be very good for keeping you in place under the hardest of driving. I had a similar style low back seat and found it comfortable so would expect these to be as comfortable, they certainly have plenty of padding. Down side has to be their weight, at 8.8 kgs each you wouldn't want them in a sprint or race car but for road who cares. http://www.cobraseats.com/specialist/roadster7.php Quote
deano.1 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I have these seats and have been to Le Mans and back no problem, they're pretty good really! Quote
Tigger Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I had these fitted into a narrow bodied car (1990 SE) and they were a pain in the thigh. On a Wide Seiw they would probably be very comfortable but the front edges on the base where they rise were pushed in a bit due to the narrow cockpit and they pushed into my thighs. May just be because I have big legs - lol Tigger Quote
Roman Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Saw some of these at the weekend fitted in Top Cat's car, I really want a set. Tigger, my car is also a narrow body, were they a real pain to fit? Quote
Steve20 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I looked at these and decided to fit Westfield's race seats instead, great decision, don't regret it for one minute! Quote
blakeya Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I Now own Tiggers old SE Narrow car. It's a fantastic car but the first thing i had to change were the seats. The cobra's were quite tight on the thighs but may have been fine in a wider car. I am now sporting some westy padded race seats & they are very very comfy indeed. Andy Quote
Roman Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Does anybody else have these fitted to a narrow bodied car? Are they as uncomfortable as Tigger describes? Quote
Neil Purdie Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Does anybody else have these fitted to a narrow bodied car? Are they as uncomfortable as Tigger describes? When fitted in a narrow, the thigh supports are squashed in from where they were supposed to be. Comfort depends on how much padding YOU have. I'm 180cm tall and 70Kg so a bit of a lightweight I have a pair fitted to my narrow bodied westy and personally I dont have a problem with the seats. Many blats over 100 - 150 miles with no complaints from me, though a friend did find the sides uncomfortable but he's a few (20) Kg heavier Quote
Scottish Westy Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Now that I know how to do it I thought I would add a picture of the seats in my car. Hope it works. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p11/rooster7358/DSCN0925.jpg Quote
