SVA PASS!!!!!! after re-test

Thought that I would post to let you all know that I have finally got the car through the SVA witha PASS... the day went something like this....

Set off at 7am yesterday morning... very cold but car started (after a few issues with not starting the day before... and an evening of trouble shooting and I thought that I had solved the problem...you know whats coming)

Anyway made it down to Taunton with plenty of time, stop and turned the engine off outside (mainly just to thaw myself out..) Moved the car into the SVA centre (she started again... so I was thinking... phew! must have sorted it)

Right then said Ian the tester... lets sort the emmissions... turned it over... nothing... doh... so after bump starting it (again... lots of this happened the last time due to the battery being flat, long story) emmissions tested... PASS... 0.6 CO (instead of the 3.66 it failed on before) everything else was ok apart from missing split pins on the castle nuts at the front (oops) with my SVA paper in my hand and Ian (tester) running off to get out of bump starting it again, we were on our way back...

That was it I thought... well I still havea few things to sort out... like the fuel gauge that was telling me I have plenty of fuel left... right up until it had none in the outside lane of the ring road... (double oops) we had some spare fuel in my girlfriends car who was with me so but some in and prayed that she would start... as we were on a slight incline and on a bend I was really really praying that this time... she woud start....

first crank nothing.... sweat was begining to appear... as was a nice big que of traffic.... all looking at the stupid me trying not to notice them look on with envy at my shiney westfield all stranded... then with one more turn of the key she started YEY! phew and other things... a quick drive to my girlfriends and thats as far as it got...

Still IT PASSED....! And I have never felt so happy...

Only taken nearly 2 years since ordering it... with loads and loads of help from Jeff and Chris I have finally made it... oh and not forgetting my girl friend for coming to both SVA dates with most of my tools in here car :)

Although I still need to get it registered... but the main hurdle is well out of the way...

Well done Rob, Took me just over 2 years too.Weather looks good for the next few days but can take a while to register especially if on a Q plate like me. I went straight to DVLA from SVA and it still took a week to post through. Got away with the post SVA waste of time jobsworth DVLA check though.

Happy motoring. :)
