scruffythefirst Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Cracking road from woodham to burnham too I'd come along, but i've got a date with an exploded diff at the pod that day Quote
Tigger Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 Hey Scruffy, would have been nice to meet you but maybe next time? I've been down that road in my tintop and oh how I wished I was in the westy, what a blast it would have been. Another great drive is from Romford to Stanstead, loads of country lanes about 4' across. Tigger Quote
polly_x Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 OK Ta.....I know that Woodham road well....... Gone straight on into the Farm at the top of the first big hill on my TL1000R once!!!!! Just could not stop for that sharp left hander!!!! Luckily no other traffic and stayed on!!! It is a great road though your right. The Romford to Stansted stuff is good too and loadsa different route options. Some good stuff from Stansted across to Hertford as well for a blat. I need to decide on the Essex meet or the Santa Pod RWYB. Didnt realise you lads were all so close! Quote
Tigger Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 Well Polly, Although I'd like as many to come to the meeting as possible, I think RWYB would be a tad more exciting Your very welcome any time though as are any other areas who would like to visit us sometime. Tigger Quote
scruffythefirst Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I'm in newport, so only a few miles from stanstead. The A130 down to chelmsford is great too, lots of twisty bits then opens up into some high speed stuff with large roundabouts. The B roads round abberton res are good too, but got to watch out for tractors and horse riders. I used to work for the EA and drove all over essex. I covered all of the square from thaxted down to grays, and from harwich to southend, unfortunately in a fwd transit, still got the back to move about as I never carried any weight. Seen plenty of cars in the verges on the woodham - burnham road. Saw a brand new 1 series 15 feet up a tree, tiv chimera in a ditch on what must be the only straight bit Whereabouts are you polly, would like the opportunity to have a good look round your car sometime Quote

So how come you haven't been to the essex meeting previously? The cambridge one is a lot closer and those guys helped me out loads when I was building mine. I didn't even realise there was an essex meet until this summer. I'll definately come along to the next one though Quote

Your right the A130 is a great road between the A120 and Chelmsford. I do that one often on my bike and the Westy. I need to get along to some of these meets. Quote
scruffythefirst Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Well if your coming up to the cambridge meet for santa pod, you'll go right past my house (assuming you don't go up the m11). If you fancy a convoy up from my place, I normally meet sam at 4 wentways and take the back roads up through cambridge. Quote
polly_x Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Actually just remembered!!!! Having a operation on Thursday involving my back, so wont be in the Westy for a couple of weeks!!!! Launching it down Santa Pod definately wont do me any favours!!!!! Quote
