Boomy Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Another thread on another forum reminded me of a visit i paid to Brooklands around 10 years ago now. I remember standing on what remained of the banked circuit, pondering what it must have been like years before. I then came across this site: http://www.brooklandsarchive.co.uk/index.htm It has some truly superb images if you like that kind of thing, including construction work. It's fantastic looking back at some of these if you want to waste half an hour. Quote

Gromit Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 ....and I always though the banking was there to help keep the cars on the ground through the turns. Quote
Guest Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I live 2 mins away , and its nice to pop down every now and again ,it also means the whole area is filed with exotica on many mnay weekends ,coupled with the fact that locally there are more nice and rare cars floating about then anywhere i have ever been , sundays in the summer are a constant "look at that" .................... but brookland has now gotta whole lot better now mercedes have finished the revamp and built a centre of excelence on the site , should prove to have some even more interesting events in the future, plus some track time . mercedes world Quote
