Robandcolin Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I extend a big thanks to anyone in the speed series who I have met over the year. You have made my first year of competitive motorsport very enjoyable. Especially every one in class A we have had some fantastic battles with Second place in Class going down to the last event. You kept me honest Steve . Well done Mr Leybourne on the class win you certainly showed us the way this year. Unlucky on the overal win but that in itself is a testament to how closely fought the class is. I look forward to seeing you all at the awards do. Rob Quote
davidgh Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Rob Very good to see the Ways keeping up the Father/Son (or, more realistically Son/Father) tradition in Class A. Your performance at Goodwood was amazing. Hope to see you again next year, when you will know the circuits. Happy Christmas to both David P.S. 1Bs are the canine gonads Quote

Also looking foward to competing against a rejuvinated Colin next year. A big thanks also to the organisers who have come in for a lot of stick this year but without who's efforts the Speed Series wouldn't happen. Looking forward to seeing everyone in February. Rob, forget the 1B cr*p, go where the competition is Steve is itching to have another go at you Quote

Rob Nah, some stroppy young gun will come out of nowhere and I'll spend all season trying to catch him Fordy, it will be good to see you back reguarly next year, should be resurgent Class C with plenty of plenty of 8 valvers. fordy Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Fordy, it will be good to see you back reguarly next year, should be resurgent Class C with plenty of plenty of 8 valvers. Thanks Martin. I was actually thinking of changing to 16 valves, but after finding out at Thoresby that so many 8V were coming to C in 07, ive decided to leave the old xflow in there and have some great competition next year. Although i will be doing some minor mods to the handling / weight and possibly gearbox Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 QUOTE that so many 8V were coming to C in 07 That's if folks actually enter for 2007 and then not fit an aeroscreen and 1b's Quote

Rob Well done Rob, ironic we had identical times in the penultimate run of the last event of the series in the wet and the only occasion we were quicker than Mark all year(who took it on the chin). Maybe if I had spent less time dressing the burn on Janes A*** last weekend my concentration could have been more focused at Thorsby!! For those of you who are left pondering, she sat on the wheel arch of the trailer, relaxed, leaned back, only to make contact with the hot exhaust newly charged from the last run On by own behalf I would like to thank everybody involved in the organisation and logistics of the speed series during my first year and add my sincere gratitude for their input and guidence over the series togther with the support and advice from fellow competitors Roll on next year with 1A tyres and a bit more alloy Quote
Asterix Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 that so many 8V were coming to C in 07 That's if folks actually enter for 2007 and then not fit an aeroscreen and 1b's ...which would put them at the back of "E" with me, if I'm not mistaken. Well, at least I'll have company Quote
